Week 13

IT assessment is over!!!! I got to class at 10:30 and left at 7pm after long day finished the prject. http://digitalmediabb.com/dwd6/New%20Assesment/index.php

With lots of error correction and debuging and ill be honest with a little help from both tutorial teachers i was able to finish the project. Basically the class was solely on project work which was good becuase everyone need it. I now have start to understand basic structure of the coding and how the coding works in relation to the end product.
I must say that in the last 3 weeks i have learnt a huge amount of information and must thank both ang and luke for putting up with my stubbornness!!!

Week 12

This week we solely have been focused on skills that are need for the major assessment. We are going thought it slowly as i am strugling to understand the background and the need of certain coding. I understand the code but dont understand the need of putting it in certain area. By the end of the class however i am much more confidant in what i am achieving in class and am beinging to become more comfortable in regards to SQL and PHP coding.

This was the first real week that we went through the project in any form of detail. We were given critiea on how the project is going to be marked and how the previuous project can help in the creation of this major assessment. The problem i found was that i still am struggling understanding some of the coding still which is a issue as it seems to continue to form basic minor error in the tasks as that we complete in class.

I just arrive overseas so only spent a hour as we went through the work sheet and other issue regarding sql as well as any other questions.

Week 9

SQL basics SELECT INSERT & DELETE examples and worksheets,Connecting PHP to the mySQL database,Get one records from the database,Insert records into a database through pure code, Update a record in the database, Delete records from a database, end information from a form. With this worksheet needing to be completed we over the holiday it basically is a gudie on how the project should be set out.

With the creating and a basic understanding of how SQL works we have now began to work on how php and sql work hand in hand. We also started to go through the “hard” coding and seeing what each part of the code does to the overall page. With the in class exercise completed we began to link sql statments within the php code. We were given the basic idea of how the major assessment is going to look like had the benifts of using SQL….(ie being able to edit the questions without the need of specilized computer sofware like dreamweaver.

Still going through the coding of this during the in the tutorial we went through several tequeniques and began to see how the coding effects the website and how if we were to change some data how that effects the end website. This week we actually got to find and delete products but there was a problem as we found out that there was no undo so once the information has been deleted there is no way to get the information back.

With the introduction of how my SQL. We are going through how the system works, this week the tasks we had to do was searching and editing a file youing the sql program. We continued working on a created project acessing certain files from pages and start to begin to understand the technology. Which ultimately is relevant to the assessment tasks. I am still having problems understanding how this works but every week we go through it i am starting to become more comfortable.

Still beginning the assessment one strucking to understand the php and forms senario and in the class the work sheet was only a little help as there was not enough time to get help everyone in the class. Eventually we began to understand how everything works ut i still am struggling. THe aim of the php i now have work out is that is acutally quite simiple it just creates a “text” with results of a list of tasks and the form allows you to access that material..

Hooray the subject guide has been made and we now what we have to do. and in this class we began the creation of the questions of the quiz….. still struggling with php and there seems to be little help in class as Ang is swamped and im guessing all of us in class are struggling a little with the php set out. Eventually i began basically setting out what topic and questions i ws going to ask.
